RCMP block off Red Deer alley after man injured in apparent drive-by BB gun shooting

A man was taken to hospital in Red Deer on Monday afternoon after he was targeted in what appears to be a drive-by BB gun shooting, the RCMP said in a news release.

Police said officers have blocked off an alley between 48 Avenue and 49 Avenue and north of Ross Street while they investigate what happened.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.after a man suffered “non-life-threatening injuries from a small calibre projectile,” police said.

Mounties are now looking for a smaller blue two-door car that sped away from the area. They added investigators believe the attack was targeted and that the public is not in danger.
