PATH provides services to support domestic violence survivors, including shelters and counselling services.

SFL said the partnership is one of the organization’s efforts to support victims of domestic violence.

“We did discover that Saskatchewan has the highest rate of domestic violence across Canada,” said Lori Johb, who is the secretary-treasurer of the SFL.

“We know that one in three people are affected by it and we know that affects people’s lives in so many different ways.”

Johb is also calling on the Saskatchewan government to do more to support domestic violence survivors.

“Going forward, I call on the provincial government to do more for survivors – such as legislating paid leave from work so survivors can seek help, get legal counsel, or otherwise get themselves or their children to safety,” Johb said.

Earlier this year, the province approved changes to domestic violence legislation, allowing people fleeing domestic violence to break a lease penalty-free.

The Saskatchewan government said at the time that further changes are expected once the Justice Ministry receives recommendations from the Domestic Violence Death Review panel.

The burgundy sparkle balls earrings can be purchased for $70 directly from the SFL.
