TIFF 2017: Portion of King Street closed due to annual street festival

A portion of King Street in downtown Toronto will be closed from Thursday to Monday at 6 a.m., for the 42nd Annual Toronto International Film Festival.

Peter Street to University Avenue will be closed for the TIFF ‘Festival Street’ event, which is being held for the fourth straight year, and several TTC service adjustments have been made as a result.

The 504 King streetcar, 504 King rush hour weekday bus service, the 514 Cherry and 304 King night streetcar and the 304 King shuttle will all be diverted around the closed stretch of road.

Changes have been made to Wheel-Trans pick up and drop off points as well.

Toronto police have advised motorists to avoid the area altogether.

The Toronto International Film Festival takes place this year from Sept. 7 to 17.
