Hurricane Harvey’s effects are still being felt at the pump in Montreal.
Gas is over $1.41 at many gas stations, and drivers are frustrated.
“It’s getting pretty expensive,” said Mehran Moghtadai, as he filled up on Saint-Jean Boulevard in DDO Wednesday.
According to petroleum analyst Dan McTeague, the hike is the result of a delayed reaction from Hurricane Harvey.
“All of this is being put to motorists, basically because of the serious hurricane and its after-effects,” McTeague told Global News.
“Hurricane Harvey knocked out about 25 per cent of the U.S. gasoline supply, so that put a lot of pressure on price.”
It’s the third gas price hike in Montreal in the past week, but McTeague says fuel will get cheaper in the next few days.

“It will drop by about two cents per day until Sunday or Monday. If I were in Montreal, I’d wait until Monday to fill up,” he said.
He expects prices to be around $1.27 or $1.29 per litre early next week.
