The Gananoque Islanders look forward to an exciting season of Junior C Hockey. Entering its third year in the Ontario Hockey Association Provincial Junior C League, the Gananoque Islanders hope to contend for a Tod Division title.
Head coach and general manager Robb Bowman says they have 10 or 11 returning players and he hopes to fill the void with local talent from the Gananoque-Kingston area.
“I want players who commit to the program and are willing to be a part of the community both on and off the ice,” says Bowman, a former player himself.
The Islanders open training camp on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Lou Jeffries Arena.
Bowman says the goal is to make the playoffs which won’t be easy. The Napanee Raiders and Port Hope Panthers are expected to battle for the top two spots.
Fighting for the final two post-season berths will be the Islanders, Amherstview Jets, Picton Pirates and Campbellford Rebels.
