Nova Scotia RCMP arrest and charge man after finding stolen vehicle

A 21-year-old Truro, N.S. man is facing several charges after RCMP found a stolen vehicle.

Police say they received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in Springhill on Friday just before 5 p.m. Police determined the vehicle was stolen from Bible Hill.

When they located the vehicle on Athol Road, which had two men inside, the vehicle did not stop for police and pulled in to a driveway. Both men fled into the woods.

The driver was eventually arrested without incident, while the passenger avoided arrest.

Daniel Wayne Tufts, 21, was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Amherst Provincial Court Monday to face charges of possession of property obtained by crime, failing to comply with an undertaking, driving while revoked in Nova Scotia and flight from police.
