Prince Edward County OPP responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Loyalist Parkway early Sunday morning.
They found a car off the road, on the front yard of a home.
The female driver and a female passenger were still in the car, but a second female passenger had been ejected from the vehicle.
She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, 19-year-old Madison Roy from Kingston, Ont., faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and operating over 80 mg causing bodily harm.
While investigating the accident, police approached another vehicle which had stopped at the scene, and after detecting the odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath, administered a breathalyzer test.
The 48-year-old woman blew within the warning range, and subsequently had her licence suspended for three days.
