With the summer months there have been fewer stories about asylum seekers illegally crossing from the United States into Canada.
We all remember the horrific stories from Manitoba of those who crossed the border illegally in the dead of winter seeking a better life.
Experts said months ago this was a train wreck waiting to happen if laws and regulations were not adjusted to process such numbers.

Current rules make it easier for someone to sneak into Canada through the fence, then cross at a legal border, where they will no doubt be turned back to stand in the queue.
The illegal crossings have overwhelmed services in Montreal resulting in officials opening the Olympic Stadium to house up to 150.

Most in this group are from Haiti and fled to the U.S. on a protected visa after the earthquakes of 2010. Those visas are expiring.
Without any real plan when accepting them, Trump’s solution is to send them back to Haiti when their deal expires. Instead they are fleeing to Canada.
No matter what side of this debate you are on one thing is certain: When the Prime Minister welcomes the world with open arms, he shouldn’t be visibly absent when it’s time to do the heavy lifting.
