Just before 10:30 p.m., police received several 911 calls from residents in the area of Kamloops Street and East 10th Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene and learned a man had just parked his car on Kamloops Street when he was shot at as he sat in the driver’s seat.

No one was injured but the victim’s car and another empty vehicle were hit before the suspect fled in another car.

“Although the suspect missed the victim, this is a residential neighbourhood, and a bullet has to stop somewhere,” Vancouver police Const. Jason Doucette said in a release.

“Luckily no one was injured.”

VPD’s Organized Crime Section are working to find out why the victim was targeted.

Anyone with information or may have seen any suspicious people or vehicles in the area is asked to contact the VPD or Crime Stoppers.
