WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg street has been closed following an officer involved shooting in St. Boniface.
Around 11 a.m. police got a call about a man with a gun on La Verendrye.
It lead to a police chase which ended a few blocks later in a collision.
“Officers shot a suspect,” Cst. Carver said during a briefing from the scene. “I don’t have an update on his condition.”
Police said no one was hurt in the crash and the Independent Investigation Unit is now involved.
The IIU said late Monday the man shot is 26 years-old and is being treated at Health Sciences Centre. A second suspect is also in custody.
