Cameras captured that awkward moment last month when Jerry Seinfeld denied Kesha a hug on a red carpet. Now, the singer is dishing about her embarrassing encounter with the comedian.

“I felt like I was five years old!” she tells Sirius radio station Hits1. “Instantly I was like, ‘Oh, f*** me,’ somehow I ended up in my very own mini-episode of Seinfeld for like five seconds.”

Caught on camera, the singer approached Seinfeld, introducing herself and asking for a hug at an event in Washington, D.C.

“I’m Kesha I love you so much, can I give you a hug?” she asked. “No, thanks,” Seinfeld replied before she asked another two times then turned away in embarrassment. “I don’t who that was,” Seinfeld admitted.

The Tik Tok singer doesn’t have any hard feelings about the incident, notwithstanding the humiliation.

“He’s not a huggy guy, that’s fine,” she says. “I shoulda known better, I’ve seen the hugging episode!”

While Seinfeld may not be open to an embrace, Kesha is definitely a hugger, though she admits the encounter has made her re-think her hugging tendencies.

“I had a moment to myself where I was like, Wow, maybe I should stop trying to hug everyone and like, attack them, and then I was like, F*** that! No, I like hugging, hugging is magical, hugging is beautiful, it’s this beautiful exchange of wonderful soul energy, like I accept you, and it’s just like this beautiful connection,” she says decidedly.

While Seinfeld may have brushed her hug off, the singer reveals one of her musical idols recently welcomed a hug.

“And then the most wonderful thing happened, my idol in life, Bob Dylan, agreed to meet up with me because we were playing the same festival and I was like, I was so scared because I had just got hug-denied,” she explains. “I was a little hug-traumatized, so I walked up and I just kind of like stood there and smiled and he just opened his beautiful arms and gave me the most wonderful healing Bob Dylan hug that I’ve ever dreamed of.”

The hug was definitely a special experience for the 30-year-old, who adds that Dylan was the reason she started writing songs.

On Thursday, Kesha debuted a brand new sound with Praying,  the first single from her upcoming album, Rainbows.
