Just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday Headingley RCMP received reports of an armed robbery at a rural home in the RM of St. Francois Xavier.

The police investigation revealed that a man and two women pulled into the driveway of the home and confronted the homeowner. The male suspect threatened the homeowner with a gun and demanded the keys to the man’s car and all the guns in the house.

Once the suspects had the guns and the homeowner’s Buick Lacrosse, they lit the car they pulled up in on fire and left. The homeowner was not injured.

As previously reported on Tuesday the car was stopped in Portage la Prairie later in the afternoon where the two women were apprehended. The man fled the scene armed with a long gun.
