André Tourigny has left the Halifax Mooseheads in order to take the role of vice-president of hockey operations and head coach for the Ottawa 67’s.
“I wanted to give my thanks to Bobby Smith and the Halifax Mooseheads,” said Tourigny during a press conference held by the Ottawa 67’s on Tuesday. “I’m excited for the challenge.”

Tourigny had signed a five-year contract as the Mooseheads head coach on May 2, 2016. But the now-former coach seemed to imply that he had moved back to Ottawa for family reasons.
Before joining Halifax’s team Tourigny had spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche.
