New Brunswick man sentenced for breaching probation on child pornography charge

A 26-year-old New Brunswick man has been sentenced to six months in prison for breaching a probation order in connection with a criminal sentence for possession of child pornography.

RCMP say Timothy Robichaud of Miramichi was convicted in 2016 and was prohibited from communicating with children under the age of 16.

They say new charges were laid after an investigation in February found that Robichaud was communicating online with an underage boy in the United States.

Robichaud pleaded guilty to two charges of failure to comply.
