Suspect driver of SUV that crashed into Airdrie home turns self in to RCMP

The suspect driver of an SUV that crashed into an Airdrie home on Wednesday and then drove off, has turned themselves in to RCMP.

Police said a black Buick SUV crashed into a home on Aster Place S.E. at around 6 a.m.

In a news release, RCMP said the crash caused “significant damage” to the external wall of the residence and the fence surrounding the yard.

No one in the home was injured.

After crashing into the home, the vehicle drove off.

RCMP said in an update Wednesday afternoon that the driver had turned themselves in, and police are no longer looking for any suspects or vehicle.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
