WINNIPEG – Health Canada has approved the use of Deltagard in Winnipeg’s battle against mosquitoes.
For the past 30 years Winnipeg has fogged with Malathion but it’s no longer available in Canada.

Winnipeg decided in 2016 to make the switch to Deltagard but needed approval from Health Canada.
That permission was granted Friday.
It’s a costly change. One round of fogging with malthion ran $100,000. Deltagard is twice that, at $200,000 per application.
