Boy injured after vehicle crashes through Calgary storefront

A young boy was injured after a vehicle crashed through the storefront of Frilly Lilly boutique on Shawville Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

Calgary police received a call at around noon, that a vehicle had driven through the front of the shop.

A young boy was struck by the vehicle, which then drove into the store. It’s believed he was pushed three to four metres inside the store.

The boy suffered a suspected broken leg as well as lacerations, and was taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital by ambulance. EMS said the boy’s condition is considered stable and not life-threatening.

The driver of the white Cadillac SUV, as well as patrons inside the store, were assessed by EMS but not injured in the incident.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, and the fire department is also on scene to assess the structural damage to the building.
