Manitoba RCMP are investigating a fire that caused $1 million in damage to the Hudson Bay Rail yard in northern Manitoba.
On Monday at 5:40 a.m., officers responded to the Hudson Bay Rail yard in The Pas, for reports of a stack of rail ties on fire.
RCMP believe the fire was deliberately set.
The Hudson Bay Rail Company said damage was around $1 million.
On Wednesday, OmniTRAX announced they are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction against those involved.
“We were very troubled by this terrible act and are eager to assist in any way possible with the investigation to ensure not only HBR but the greater community can rest easier knowing the perpetrator of this act are held responsible for their actions” Merv Tweed, president of OmniTRAX Canada said.
