RCMP lifts ‘Hold and Secure’ order at 4 Coquitlam schools

Baker Drive Elementary is one of four Coquitlam, B.C. schools on a 'Hold and Secure' order by RCMP on April 4, 2017.

According to Coquitlam RCMP, the report came in to the area of Baker Drive Elementary, which is at 885 Baker Drive, at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

As a precaution, police issued a ‘hold and secure’ order to Baker Drive Elementary and nearby Charles Best Secondary, Hillcrest Middle School and Children of Integrity Montessori. A ‘hold and secure’ is used when there is something happening outside the school building that is not an active or immediate threat to students and staff.

A little more than a hour later, police determined there was no threat to staff and students.

The general public, including parents/guardians of students, are now able to access the area.
