Shooting on Onion Lake Cree Nation sends man to hospital

RCMP have now charged two men as a result of a shooting that took place this past weekend on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

At around 5:30 a.m. CT on April 2, officers were called to an adult male who had been shot at a residence.

Police officials said the victim was taken to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Tyran Stanley, 18, and Joshua Dillon, 19, are facing charges of aggravated assault, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm without a license and careless use of a firearm.

Both are scheduled to appear before a provincial court judge on Wednesday.

Onion Lake Cree Nation is approximately 280 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
