An issue with baggage systems led to delays at Vancouver International Airport on Saturday morning.
Many passengers travelling to the U.S. took to social media to complain of long lines to drop off luggage.
YVR staff worked to resolve the issue and gave out cookies and water to delayed passengers.
At around 11:30 a.m., YVR said the issue had been resolved.
Steve Hankinson, YVR’s vice-president of operations, said the delay was caused by a “technical problem with U.S.-bound flights and the processing of bags. It took us some time to resolve the issue and things have returned to normal here at YVR.”
He went to say that some passengers did miss their flights and they’re working with airlines to get those customers to their destination.
