Mississauga woman’s death being investigated as homicide: police

Peel Regional Police say investigators are treating the death of a Mississauga woman earlier this month as a homicide after she was found outside of her south-end home.

Police were called to a Westmount Avenue house, near Cawthra Road and Lakeshore Road East, March 20 around 9:15 a.m. Officers found the body of 43-year-old Cheryl McVarish outside of the home.

Investigators haven’t released suspect information or details on how McVarish died.

McVarish was initially reported missing on March 13 in the same area of the city.
