Surrey man killed in serious single-vehicle crash on Fraser Highway

A 36-year-old Surrey man is dead after a serious single-vehicle crash that has shut down part of the Fraser Highway in Surrey early Friday morning.

The accident happened near the highway’s intersection at 180th Street around 1 a.m.

Surrey RCMP believe speed was a factor in the accident since it appears his car jumped the median, struck a pole and then slammed into a tree.

Police had closed both the east and westbound lanes between 184th and 172nd Avenue while officers investigated but the lanes have since been re-opened.
