A Seattle-based ferry company is now planning to launch a passenger ferry service between downtown Vancouver and Victoria next spring.
The Clipper, which runs between Seattle and Victoria and Seattle and the San Juan Islands, will provide another option to those wanting to travel between Vancouver and B.C.’s capital city.
The chief operating officer, David Gudgel, told The Canadian Press the company is going to acquire a 52-metre high-speed catamaran for the new route. It will be able to carry 579 passengers.
The plan right now is to make one trip a day, leaving Vancouver in the morning and leaving Victoria in the afternoon.
Two weeks ago, V2V Vacations announced it is launching a passenger ferry between Vancouver and Victoria this spring. The company says it’s offering three tiers of fares, ranging from $120 in ‘premium comfort’ class to $240 in ‘royal class,’ all one way.
There’s no word yet on what the Clipper ferry service will cost.
