Lambton OPP are investigating after a variety store in Watford was the scene of an armed robbery early Saturday morning.

Investigators were called to the Mac’s Convenience Store at 5302 Nauvoo Road around 4:30 a.m. and were told four suspects, one armed with an unspecified weapon, entered the business, and demanded “various merchandise” before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

According to police, members of OPP West Region’s canine and emergency response team units were called to the scene. While searching the area, police turned up a stolen vehicle that was believed to have been used during the incident.

The four suspects remain at large, police said, and no suspect descriptions have been released. It’s unclear what merchandise was stolen in the incident.

Police investigators remained at the scene for several hours Saturday.
