Woman assaulted in West End area, Winnipeg police searching for suspect

WINNIPEG — Police are on the lookout for a suspect after a woman was assaulted in the West End area Tuesday.

Police said they were called to the 1000 block of Sherburn Street around 6:30 p.m. after a woman, who is in her mid-30s, was seriously assaulted.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

Police said the victim knew the attacker.

Police are looking for an adult male suspect.
