UPDATE: Young family from Meacham, Sask. killed in Highway 5 crash east of Saskatoon
RCMP say three people were killed in a two-vehicle collision east of Saskatoon on Highway 5.
Around 7:40 a.m. CT on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a serious crash in the St. Denis area.

According to the initial investigation, an eastbound semi tractor-trailer unit and an SUV collided with each other.
The three occupants in SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officials said the victims are believed to be an adult male, an adult female and a male child.
Autopsies are expected to take place later this week.

The driver of the semi, an adult male, did not have any physical injuries.
The roadway was completely blocked off to motorists until Wednesday afternoon.
The cause of the collision is under investigation with assistance from an RCMP collision reconstructionist and office of the chief coroner.
