TORONTO – A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the mass shooting in July on Danzig Street.
The shooting claimed the lives of two people and injured 23 others when a gunfight between rival gang members erupted at a community barbeque.
On Tuesday, Toronto Police charged a youth with possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence and threatening death.

The name of the boy arrested cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The teen is the fourth person to be charged in connection with the mass shooting.
On November 22, police charged a 17-year-old male, who also cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, with two counts of second degree murder, one count of attempted murder, reckless discharge of a firearm and 22 counts of aggravated assault.
Also charged in connection to the Danzig shooting is Nahom “Gifted” Tsegazab, an alleged member of the Galloway Boys street gang. He was arrested in early November and charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault.
Shaquan “Bam Bam” Mesquito was also charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder, 24 counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless discharge of a firearm.
