Saskatoon police arrest Radisson man following altercation involving rifle

Saskatoon police have a Radisson, Sask., man in custody following allegations of an altercation involving a rifle.

Officers were called to a parking lot in the 800-block of Idylwyld Drive early Friday morning for reports of an altercation.

Witnesses told police the altercation was broken up by a bystander.

A man involved in the altercation then returned and allegedly threatened the bystander with a rifle.

He then drove away in a GMC pickup truck but returned while officers were taking statements.

Police then conducted a high-risk stop and arrested a 22-year-old man.

A search turned up a magazine with .22-calibre shells and a .22-calibre rifle was seized in the truck.

He is facing nine charges including assault with a weapon.

Police said no one was injured during the altercation.
