Tracey Dorrington-Skinner, a spokeswoman for the residents, was one of about 50 people who delivered the petition containing more than 1,000 signatures.

She says the government needs to know that an inquiry is essential for the residents in their fight for healing and justice.

Justice Minister Ross Landry says the government is waiting for more information from an RCMP investigation into the allegations before deciding its next step, if any.
