Calgary police renew call for help in Monterey Park shooting death

Calgary police are using the anniversary of a deadly shooting in Monterey Park to renew their pleas for help from the public.

Hussein Merhi, 26, was killed in a brazen daytime shooting in an alley in the 100 block of Del Ray Road N.E. on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015.

Investigators believe Merhi was killed after getting into a fight with at least two people.

On Tuesday, police released descriptions of the two suspects:

The first is described as being about 25 years old with a medium build and blond hair. He was wearing black clothing, including a black winter coat and black sunglasses.

The second suspect is described as a man with blond hair and a thin build.

Police said a dark-coloured SUV was seen fleeing the area after the shooting. Detectives believe the vehicle is possibly a 2000 to 2006 Ford Escape or similar SUV.
