A man is dead after being hit by a semi as he tried to walk for help along a slippery Saskatchewan highway.
RCMP say two men were traveling from Calgary to Regina Thursday night along the Trans-Canada Highway. Around 8:50 p.m. their vehicle got stuck in the ditch near Parkbeg, Sask. The two men started walking to Parkbeg to get help.

One of the men fell on the highway and became unconscious. At the same time, a semi crested a small hill. It was not able to stop or avoid the man, hitting him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s name has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
