An elderly woman was killed and three others were transported to hospital, including a six-year-old child, following a three-vehicle collision in Brampton Monday morning.
Peel Regional Police said the crash, involving a tractor trailer and two cars, happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 50 and Cotrelle Boulevard.
Police said the passengers injured were all from a vehicle with six occupants inside; a driver, a front passenger and four people in the backseat.
Two women and the child were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Both males in the front were uninjured.
Police said an elderly woman in the back seat was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area during the crash to come forward.

Police said they will also be looking for surveillance video to piece together what happened.
Hwy 50 between Bellchase Trail and Ebenezer Road remains closed for the police investigation.
