Scary ride for Greyhound bus passengers headed to Winnipeg

Passengers on a Greyhound bus heading for Winnipeg on the Trans-Canada Highway, were in for a scary ride Tuesday night.

Around 9 p.m., police had to step in after a man was acting aggressively and swearing at people on the bus, according to RCMP.

The bus was coming from Brandon, Man., and had to stop near MacGregor, Man, where it was met by police.

Officers came on board and took the man off the bus without incident. He was transported to hospital.

No weapons were used and no one was injured.

There are no charges and the “incident of the matter” is concluded, RCMP said.

“Because the safety and security of our customers is the cornerstone of our business, we enforce a zero tolerance policy with respect to unruly or aggressive behaviour,” Lanesha Gibson said, a spokesperson for Greyhound Lines.

“If this type of behaviour occurs on board the bus, the driver will pull over in a safe location, remove the customer from the bus and contact the local authorities, as was the case in the recent incident that occurred,” she added.
