As of Nov. 19, AHS had administered 817,833 doses of the influenza vaccine across Alberta. Last season, 770,817 doses had been administered approximately the same number of days into the province’s flu program.

“It is good to see the momentum continuing from last week and the weeks prior,” AHS said in an email to Global News. “We need to keep this momentum going.”

Last year, the influenza virus hit Albertans later than it did this year.
