French Bulldog puppy theft: Cochrane RCMP release composite sketches of suspects

Cochrane RCMP have released a composite sketch of two men thought to be involved in the theft of a French Bulldog puppy on Sunday.

Officers were called to a home on Township Road 264 at around 8:30 p.m. by a breeder who said she had been assaulted and one of her puppies had been stolen.

According to RCMP, the victim welcomed the men into her home after they indicated they were interested in purchasing a puppy from her recent litter. Once inside, it’s alleged one of the men grabbed an eight-week old puppy and ran outside.

“The homeowner followed them and got shoved to the ground while attempting to stop them from stealing her puppy,” RCMP said in a news release.

The puppy stolen is an eight-week-old bluenose French Bulldog valued at $4,000.

Investigators said both men got into a blue sports car where a woman was awaiting inside. The vehicle took off, heading eastbound on Highway 1A.

The first male is described as approximately 5’10 or 5’11 with well-styled short brown hair.  He has a slender build and was wearing a blue jacket with a white polo shirt underneath, blue jeans and white Converse-style sneakers.

The second male is described as 5’6 or 5’7 with a thicker build, full lips, inset/slanted eyes and brown hair. He was wearing khaki beige pants, tapered at the bottom and a tan T-shirt with black geometric designs.

RCMP said the victim stated the suspects barely spoke English and told her they were from El-Salvador.
