Asquith area man dead from carbon monoxide poisoning

ASQUITH, Sask., – A man is dead and a woman is in serious condition after a carbon monoxide poisoning this morning. 

Warman RCMP and paramedics were called to a rural residence near Asquith, Saskatchewan around 7:30 a.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious man.

When they arrived, emergency responders found a man and a woman in the residence. 

The 29-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. 

The 26-year-old woman was rushed to Royal University Hospital in serious condition. 

SaskEnergy was called in and determined the carbon monoxide levels in the residence were at lethal levels. 

Investigators believe the boiler was the source of the carbon monoxide gas. 

No names have been released and police continue to investigate.
