A Cochrane woman, who is a French Bulldog breeder, has reported a puppy was stolen from her home by a couple who claimed to be interested in purchasing a dog.
According to a news release Monday, Cochrane RCMP said they were called out to a home near Township Road 264 Sunday night.
Police said the homeowner claimed the couple had come to look at a litter of puppies she had for sale.
RCMP said the potential buyers came into the woman’s home, picked up an eight-week-old puppy and ran away.
The homeowner said she tried to follow the man and woman but was shoved to the ground.
According to police, the couple left in a blue sports car and were last seen heading east on Highway 1A.
RCMP are looking for a man who is between 5’10” and 5’11” with short brown, well-styled hair. The woman is described as very small with a slender build and brown hair.
The blue nose French Bulldog is valued at $4,000.
