With the victory, Alberta (3-3-3-3) sweeps its two-game weekend series against Manitoba (7-3-1-1).

“I think their team speed really put us back on our heels,” said Bisons head coach Jon Rempel. “We never really were able to establish a consistent forecheck.”

Alberta fourth-year forward Amy Boucher scored the only goal of the game 10:05 into the second period. The Fort Saskatchewan, AB product split the Bisons’ defence before tucking the puck five-hole on Manitoba goalie Amanda Schubert.

Pandas netminder Lindsey Post made 23 saves to earn her second shutout of the season. Schubert turned away 19 shots in the loss.

Manitoba will try to bounce back in Saskatchewan on Friday when it visits the Huskies. Alberta returns home next weekend to host the Lethbridge Pronghorns for two games.
