William Parsons, a West Island man who has been serving a three-year sentence for sexually abusing girls, will be released from prison next week.
In November 2012, Parsons was found guilty of sexually abusing three little girls at his late wife’s Caruso Street daycare in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
The facility closed down soon after the police investigation began.
Parsons has now served two-thirds of his sentence and is eligible for parole.

In its decision, the Parole Board of Canada expressed concern that Parson’s risk of re-offending in a violent way has increased, which is why they imposed certain conditions.
Though a spokesperson declined to comment on the decision, the board noted that Parsons told caseworkers in May that he would have vengeance one day and implied that it would be against any child whatsoever.

Defense lawyer Andrew Barbacki explained three years is an average sentence under Canadian law.
“I would say that with those kind of conditions, should he go astray, it won’t be long before he’s before the courts again and in custody, honestly,” he said.
Parsons’ conditions include staying away from his victims, as well as a neighbourhood bike path and streets where his victims could be.
He cannot be around children unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
In November 2014, after losing his appeal, Parsons spoke to Global News, saying he had been set up.
“I have been framed, framed is not the word, the police detectives coached the parents when they were testifying in court,” Parsons said at the time.
“The parents lied, they lied in court.”
Parsons is expected to be released sometime between Tuesday and Thursday next week.
