Magic Lantern Theatres to open new cinema in Saskatoon’s Brighton neighbourhood

Movie goers in Saskatoon will have a new option next year after Magic Lantern Theatres announced it will open a new first-run cinema in the Brighton neighbourhood.

The cinema will be part of Brighton Marketplace currently under development by Dream Centres.

“There is something so special about going to the movies, it transcends generations and serves as a point of connection – a feeling Brighton is trying to evoke in its community,” Josh Kaufman, senior vice president of retail and commercial development Dream Centres, said.

According to Dream Centre officials, the new cinema will have seven giant screens, wide rocking chairs and stadium style seating.

It is expected to open in the fall of 2017.

Magic Lantern Theatres operates the Roxy and Rainbow cinemas in Saskatoon.
