As the world wakes up to news that Republican Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States, political cartoonists have already been hard at work painting a satirical image of what America will look like under Trump’s government.

“He tells it like it is,” read the caption of a New York Times cartoon, depicting Trump as a hungry wolf in a field full of sheep, published before Trump was even declared the winner of Tuesday’s election.
The president-elect took to Twitter to celebrate his win in the early hours of Wednesday morning, tweeting “The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before.”

Trump is an avid user of Twitter, who often took to his account to attack opponents and critics in harsh terms during his campaign – a so-called “trigger happy” attitude his critics have expressed concerns about when it comes to handling international affairs.
With global markets reacting cautiously, and protests beginning to pop up in some states, some cartoonists depicted a “disappointed America.”

Others speculated that Mexico may consider building its own wall to deal with Trump’s presidency.
