Saskatchewan is on pace to see a jump in housing starts for 2013: CMHC

Saskatchewan is on pace to see a jump in housing starts for 2012 compared to past years.  

The latest report from the Canadian mortgage and Housing Corporation is forecasting a 23% increase for single detached homes, that’s about 5100 units being built this year.

In Regina the city will see about 1300 of those new homes built. 

C-M-H-C suggests our vacancy rate could also rise up to 0.8% for this year and 1% by next year. 

Demand is also expected to drive the average house price up to more than 275,000 dollars.
