UPDATE: Police search for two suspects after Market Mall jewellery heist

Police are on the hunt for two suspects after a bold jewellery heist at Market Mall on Monday, and say they are reviewing video surveillance.

A white Dodge SUV smashed through the glass doors at the mall’s north entrance around 4 a.m.

Suspects entered the mall and broke into the display case at Jewels by Maxime’s, a local, family owned jewellery store.

Calgary police believe they have found the vehicle involved.

Acting on a tip, police recovered the white SUV in the nearby community of Varsity.

It is now being examined by the Forensic Crime Scenes Unit.

At this point, the approximate value of the stolen jewellery is unknown, but police say a significant amount was taken.

No one was in the mall at the time, and no one was injured.
