Former Liberal MLA Pat Pimm is expected to appear in court today to face assault charges.
He faces one count of assault and was first slated to appear in Dawson Creek court back in September.
Few details of the incident that prompted the case have been released and a publication ban is in place on the name of the alleged victim.
After a special prosecutor was appointed, Pimm announced he would quit the B.C. Liberal Caucus and sit as an independent while the matter is before the courts.
He is not seeking re-election in next spring’s vote.
