The man accused in the death of a young Calgary mother is now facing a charge of first-degree murder.
Christopher Dunlop was charged with manslaughter and indignity to a human body, in connection to the 2009 death of Laura Furlan.
The body of the 38-year-old was found in Fish Creek Park three years ago.
Charges against Dunlop have now been upgraded to first-degree murder.
Dunlop was arrested in northeast Calgary in August, after police received a tip from the public.
Police say he is known to them, and has been a suspect from the beginning of the investigation.
