The province’s police watchdog is investigating the death of 31-year-old man allegedly armed with two knives, after an “interaction” with officers in Toronto led to a stun gun being deployed.
Toronto Police Const. Victor Kwong said officers responded to a report of a man “screaming and waving” two knives Friday on Sagres Crescent, in the St. Clair Avenue and Old Weston Road area.
Kwong said police arrived on scene and an “interaction” between the suspect and police occurred. The SIU said a stun gun was used by one of the officers and the man went into medical distress.
