Strathcona County RCMP are recommending motorists stay off the roads if at all possible, Thursday evening.
Officers have responded to a number of collisions throughout the county.
There were two collisions on Highway 21 which have caused major traffic delays.

The first collision happened around 6p.m. near Township Road 510. Officers say a semi truck jack-knifed, and has blocked traffic in both the north and southbound lanes.
The second collision happened on Highway 21 about one kilometre south of Fort Saskatchewan. Officers say a tractor trailer jack-knifed, and has blocked the southbound lanes of Highway 21.
As a result of these collisions, officers say a number of other smaller collisions have happened at these locations, involving multiple vehicles.
RCMP say they have also responded to collisions on Highway 16 and Highway 216.
Officers say motorists should expect major delays in all of these areas, and are not recommending travel at this time.
