Have you ever wanted to live to 100?
Well, it’s not as easy as you might think.
“Not so many people can get to 100,” said Dr. Thomas Perls, geriatrician and researcher at Boston University School of Medicine.
Yet, there are more and more people hitting the milestone.
Perls explained there are a few important lifestyle choices that can improve life expectancy.
For example: being at a healthy weight, not smoking and not consuming too much alcohol are all keys to living a longer life.
Others include regular exercise, proper stress management and ultimately your parents’ and grandparents’ genes.
Not everything on the market works to stop the aging process.
“Don’t fall for these anti-aging clinics,” Perls said.
“A really good moisturizer is all you need.”
Perls will be giving a lecture at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the Jewish General Hospital.
