Twarynski scores twice as Hitmen snap skid with win over Oil Kings

Carsen Twarynski scored twice, including the winner, as the Calgary Hitmen snapped a five-game losing skid with a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Lucas Cullen and Jordy Stallard had power-play goals for Calgary (4-5-1), with Taylor Sanheim adding insurance.

Lane Bauer and Nicholas Bowman found the back of the net for the Oil Kings (4-7-2).

Cody Porter made 38 saves for the win in net as Patrick Dea turned aside 26-of-30 shots in defeat.

The Hitmen were 2 for 7 on the power play while Edmonton went scoreless on its two opportunities.
